some stitching types of garment
some common stitching type for apparel, which are applied in different kinds of clothings, i will list 3 types: topstitching, flatlock stitching, overlock stitching, which are most common for our daily clothing.
1.Topstitching:
There are 2 kinds of topstitching which most common in your clothings:
Single topstitching:
It features one stitching on the seam of panel on front side, makes zone of between panel looks more smoothly and strongly, and it is also a kinds of style for looking. Normally, patterner will apply it for most of woven fabric;
Double topstitching:
It features two stitchings on the seam of panel on front side, makes seam between panels more strongly, such as some main seam in jacket or pants.
2.Overlock stitching;
It mainly used for the inner seam between panels, this stitching needs several yarns and needles, it features the seam keep elastic with knitted fabric and ensure seams are serged to cover the raw edges and thus prevent raveling. Normally, patterner will apply it for most of knitted fabric, such as yoga pants, swimming wear, workout suit.
3.Flatlock stitching:
It mainly used for the inner seam between panels, but it is on the front side of clothing, this stitching needs several yarns and needles, it features the seam keep elastic with knitted fabric, but there is not edges between panels under this stitching because the yarns and needles fix the edges between panels on backside, also can prevent raveling.
